In the original plot of Austen, the protagonists of “Sense and Sensibility” the Dashwood sisters - Elinor and Marianne do not fight against blood thirsty sea monsters; but most probably struggle with each other and with oneself. Marianne personifying precipitance and Elinor completely controlling her emotions, in their lives they go by in (and in marriage life too, that of paramount importance) opposed arguments… though the both are aiming to the same – love and happiness.
