In “Around the World in Eighty Days” Verne describes an imperturbable Englishman and his deft servant who hurry to double the terrestrial globe on a bet and experience many adventures. In contrast to many other invented adventures of Verne’s books where heroes travelled on imaginary and not yet invented transports, here characters use the existing ones.
